My incisions are throbbing. My back and shoulder hurts from sleeping in a recliner. I can’t drive for the next week and can’t go to school or work. I won’t have money for rent or my car payment this month. Just found out I owe the hospital nearly $3000 AFTER insurance.

Last night I saw Machine Head play at the Newport. I was enjoying the show from afar on the balcony as I am much to agoraphobic to be in on the floor.

After a dozen or so beers and a few ciders I told myself, “We’re going down there and getting one of those set lists for our boyfriend.” And that’s what I did. It seemed so simple and seamless. I glided down those steep, narrow stairs, through the pit, and right into the front against the barricade.

This morning it became evident that it was not that graceful. I’m pretty confident I fell down the stairs and threw a good amount of elbows.

But, fuck, I did it.
